Preparation at Home
Trash can on wheels, luggage on wheels, or two totes to store emergency items in home. Personal backpack-disaster bag.
Tarp,flashlight, radio, gloves, whistle, medicine (rotate), umbrella, extra batteries.
Make hard copy of cell numbers.
Make sure everyone has the same phone number for a contact that is at least 200 miles away.
710 KIRO is emergency radio.
KIDS-Change, emergency phone numbers, letter from mom and dad for encouragement.
ICE Cell Phone Program
Space and then the name ICE-emergency contact person (phone number on cell phone) put last name first.
Earthquake Preparedness
Getting beside something is better than under something. Get lower than higher items in house. Attach devices for computer and other items so they do not move.
Protect from glass by turning slippers upside down. Bed should not be under window.
Earthquake insurance-make sure what is covered.
Basic Chaplain Bag
First aid kit, flashlight, food-snacks, change of clothes-shoes to jacket, pen, pencil, notebook, breath mints (no gum), paper. Camera to record damage.
Clothes in bag. Plastic bag to put wet clothes. Towel. Baggy full of gloves.
Some items on a clipboard.
Small stuffed animals. Ziplock bag for stuffed animals.
Garbage bag.
